iO helps KNMI keep the Netherlands safe in terms of weather and climate in 2024
The Dutch Meteorological Institute KNMI is expanding its collaboration with its digital partner iO in 2024. The blended agency optimises the organisation’s website and customer portals, crucial for port companies, water boards, safety regions, and aviation organizations .
KNMI, The Royal Meteorological Institute of the Netherlands, has been working closely together with blended agency iO since 2022 . Together, they build various future-proof customer portals, providing users access to current, accurate weather information and relevant climate data. iO also helps to further develop the institute's website to support the brand experience.
"Since the start of our partnership, the iO teams have given us tremendous added value. Not only do they contribute on a technical level, but they also proactively offer possible solutions to our challenges. We look forward to what the future holds," says Jan Dekker , Strategic Business Manager for weather and aviation meteorology at KNMI.
This partnership has recently been expanded. In addition to developing and refining its website and extranets, KNMI now relies on iO to build a data portal to make climate scenarios digitally available . These allow policymakers to assess the consequences of climate change and extreme weather and make decisions to keep the Netherlands safe, sustainable, and habitable in the future.
"For the climate scenarios, our experts have built a data platform , which we will further expand this year with data visualizations. It is a project of immense societal importance, and we are incredibly proud to contribute to it," says Jaap Willem Hoogenhout , Business Development Director at iO.
