How to guarantee swift intervention for water and gas leaks through a centralized business app?

Water or gas leaks usually don't wait until a convenient moment to happen. Rapid response and effective organisation are essential for the people that deal with them. Who do you call? Cibor. A company specialising in leak detection, building pathology and tank protection. We developed a business application that supports the entire organisation’s operations and calculations. It's not a finished product, but it's a living platform that we're making a little better every day.

From digitisation to performance

We have supported Cibor with digital solutions and tools for the last decade. What started in 2013 as the digitisation of paper files has now grown into a business-critical platform that keeps Cibor running smoothly.

After all, opening our business app is the first task for every Cibor employee when they start their working day in the morning. And their last task: To close the business app.

Solution

A tailor-made business app that semi-automatically schedules the most efficient solution and facilitates quick reporting.

About Cibor

Cibor NV from Meerhout specialises in leak detection, building pathology, technical repairs and concrete processing. From the Kempen region of Belgium, they are the first port of call for water and gas leaks in pipes in and around buildings, swimming pools, ponds and much more. They also carry out inspections into the causes of water damage in buildings, identifying problems with roofs and facades. In addition, customers can also count on Cibor for the repair of fuel storage tanks. These customers are mainly contractors, companies, insurance companies and private individuals in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Cibor

Efficiency as a common thread

Cibor prides itself on adherence to agreements and quick interventions. They aim for consistent 100% customer satisfaction. It is logical that efficient planning is indispensable for their more than 80 specialists. In addition, for Cibor's customers, rapid intervention is not just a nice to have, but often essential.

The business app is tailored to Cibor’s operations. Imagine the following fictional, but realistic, scenario:

A customer from Louvain-La-Neuve suspects that their outdoor swimming pool is leaking and makes a request for leak detection through the insurance company. This request is received by Cibor, which immediately creates a new file. A planner uses the online planning to look for a French-speaking swimming pool specialist who can be at the customer’s location the next day. When they arrive at the customer the next day and open the progressive web app (PWA) and they can draft their report in full. Saving time with a few pre-programmed sentences for common conclusions. The customer signs the finished digital file on-site. And the file is available the moment the technician leaves the (satisfied) customer.

All these steps take place in the business application.

Cibor

Flexible development with Symfony

The whole system was developed in Symfony. This allows us to provide new custom functions easily. Think of to-do lists for employees or direct communication with partners who can deliver files via an API.

The entire app is also secured with two-factor authentication (2FA), so employees can work securely in the office, on a construction site, and from home.

Cibor and the future

Recently, Cibor employees have had access to more details in their report view, which adapts depending on the device on which it is viewed.

In the analytics section on the business app, they can find all the data collected about current and past files. The greatest added value lies in the export of data, which they can use to optimise their activities with targeted, substantiated actions.

And the next step? Well, invoicing still takes place outside of the app. But very soon, Cibor's finance department will be invoicing from within the business app.

One central app, to run an entire business. Sound appealing?
